In 2011, Teva lost one of our beloved team members, Chris Rice in an unfortunate ATV accident. Our family remembers Rice as a positive force around the office, a man who brightened everyone’s day with a big smile, positive attitude and someone who lived better stories outside the office. “The first time I met Chris I had an old Raleigh Rampar BMX bike that I had as a kid. It had been hanging in my garage and had a beautiful chromoly frame so I cleaned it up and put it in my office. He popped by one day and asked where I got it with this enthusiastic smile. I knew he had worked at a bike shop before that and was really into mountain biking. From then on we had a very strong connection,” remembers Jon Hollister, our International Business Manager.
They say you measure a person’s life by what people say when you’re no longer there. To honor Chris and his passion for downhill mountain biking, we worked with his younger brother, Ben to develop an eye-popping colorway of our popular mountain biking shoe, The Links. Check out the video as part of this fitting tribute to one of the most inspiring individuals of the Teva tribe.
